meet the artist
Marsha Godoy-Schindler
Marsha is an artist, juror, educator, biologist and business owner. Her work has been seen in the Pence Gallery in Davis, Epperson Gallery in the Bay Area, Blue Line Arts and the Center for Contemporary Art, as well as monca, the Museum of Northern California Art to name a few. She owns and runs a small business called clayARTstudio814 in East Sacramento where she provides a positive and supportive creative center for studio artists to work, to learn and to create. She also teaches and facilitates ceramic classes at the studio.
“My work in clay involves both narrative (story), and ritual. Story in that the clay, and eventually the finished piece, takes on voice. Ritual and collaboration with the material in that my task is to listen, adapting and building upon what I hear. The natural world too, is continuous story.”
